Black drum are found on the same flats as red drum (redfish). They generally feed on crabs shrimp, and other shellfish and marine worms. They can grow to over 30 pounds in our waters. They put up a strong fight. All the fish below were caught in the Mosquito Lagoon, Indian River Lagoon, or Banana River Lagoon on spinning or fly fishing tackle. This is the closest saltwater flats fishing to Orlando and less than thirty minutes from Cocoa Beach and Daytona Beach.
